Bob, I’ve been reading your posts about wheel maintenance. Is the glass cleaner Sprayaway just used for cleaning or as a prep for painting ? If you just use it for cleaning, do you then rinse it off with water or let it dry on the wheel ? Thanks for your time. Russ

Hi Russ – I assume you are referring to my scoth-brite finished fuchs. If so, the foam glass cleaner with a cloth can be used for regular cleaning to remove brake dust and dirt. Also mineral spirits is a great cleaner without harming raw finish and painted centers.

Wipe everything right away as the raw wheels tend to be more prone to water-spot stains. Once a year, I will spend about 15 minutes per wheel redoing the scotch-brite finish.

Either method is not a method for paint prep.
