Tell me I’m wrong. I don’t really care. The beauty of creating WERK CREW is that there is no one above me telling me what I can and cannot do. No egotistical art director. No design by committee. No market surveys. It’s just me unleashing what I feel is right and all that matters is how I feel about it.
With that said, this is another logo for WERK CREW. I wanted something with an indirectly unpleasant figurehead. I dug through some old artwork of mine. These were doodles from a time when I watched Tim Burton’s THE NIGHTMARE BEFORE CHRISTMAS one too many times and stared at the work of GUSTAV KLIMT for far too long. I call them my “rubylith family.” My former boss use to call them my “teef people.” I rendered them in printer’s rubylith tape because I didn’t want the line weight predictability of pen or pencil. I decided to do the same for the lettering rather than use an actual font.
Post title: MotoringConBrio totally got the last one and I suspect he’ll get this one as well.
