WHEN THE FIRE STARTS TO MATTER AND THE CLOCK IS CHURNING

A single shot of Dave’s absolutely gorgeous Polo Red ’66 911 from the February LA Swap show. The car was just finished in time for Dave to debut it at the event. I kept returning to this car to figure out why I liked it so much. I prefer the custom hot rods but for me this factory stock appearance car was the one that stole the show. No big shock when Dave walked up and declared it was his car. His other 911 is another spectacular beauty.

A few moths later Dave asked, if not insisted, that I drive it in Monterey during the R Gruppe Treffen in Monterey. I have a policy not to borrow anything I can’t afford to replace but was plenty content to ride passenger. The car is incredibly well sorted both mechanically and cosmetically – a genuine no excuses car.  Something about the silky smooth drive that made me think what it was like to have purchased this car brand new and drive it “back-in-the-day”. Massive grin riding around with Dave that day. Thank you my brother!
